Board modes and controls
The mod offers several board modes. Portal’s power-mode guidance is being finalized. The other modes have not been validated with Portal screens.
- Power (P1 to P3)
- Set output in watts. Three saved power settings you can switch between. Portal’s setup guidance will cover this mode.
- Voltage
- Set output in volts instead of watts.
- Temperature control
- Holds the heater at a target temperature. Presets for stainless, nickel, and titanium wire. Not validated with Portal screens.
- TCR
- Temperature control with a coefficient you enter yourself, for wire not in the presets. Not validated with Portal screens.
- Bypass
- Unregulated. Battery voltage goes straight to the screen. Portal publishes no bypass setting.
- Readouts
- Watts, resistance, volts, amps, mode, battery, and a puff counter.
- Controls
- Fire 5 times to lock or unlock. Fire 3 times for the mode menu. In temperature control, fire 3 times for the wire menu. The screen and the fire-button light can be switched off.
- Protections
- CHECK ATOMIZER, SHORT, OVER 10S (fire cut-off at ten seconds), LOW BATTERY, and TOO HOT when the board passes 84 °C.
- Firmware
- The board is reflashable over USB-C with a desktop tool. Instructions will be published with the kit.

How much assembly is required?
Portal arrives mostly assembled. You finish fitting the components and apply the included battery decals and stickers beneath the clear side panels. The mesh screen arrives installed.
Why are two screen widths included?
The two widths provide different mesh areas and resistance. Ten of each are included, and the narrower screen arrives installed.
Are setup instructions available yet?
Assembly and operating instructions are being finalized before launch. Do not dry-glow the full-width screen.
Troubleshooting and support
What does SHORT mean?
It is the mod’s low-resistance protection. Power the mod off, check that the RDA and screen clamps are firm, then restart it. Full instructions will ship with the kit.
Will replacement parts be available?
Replacement screens, glass, gaskets, and small hardware are planned for launch.
Is this a sealed device?
No. The core parts separate for inspection, cleaning, and replacement.
